Solar Project Development & NEM 2.0 Utility Interconnection
Our Role
Provided engineering support to multiple Energy Services Companies (ESCOs) for the solar project development support and technical application preparation and submittals to California Investor-owned Utilities to capture NEM 2.0 tariff grandfathering. Helped reserve 14.77 MW, equating to an additional $3M in annual savings.
Summary
In December 2022, the California Public Utilities Commission approved a new Net Energy Metering tariff structure called NEM 3.0. It changes the financial viability of commercial solar-only photovoltaic systems. Allie Bridge Energy Solutions provided technical engineering and application support to ensure that commercial systems in early development could be grandfathered into the current and more favorable NEM 2.0 tariff. We provided the service for three ESCOs in California for K-12 and municipal projects.
